Proof of SMS Consent for Little Gems App

Important Note:

SMS notifications are completely optional. You can use all core features of the Little Gems app without enabling any SMS notifications.

1. Collection of SMS Consent

Little Gems collects explicit consent from users who choose to receive SMS messages through clear opt-in checkboxes. Each type of SMS notification (service updates and marketing) requires separate consent. This consent is recorded with a timestamp and can be verified in our systems. Users can modify or withdraw their consent at any time through their account settings.

2. Consent Flow

For users who wish to enable SMS notifications, consent can be provided in two ways:

  • When Linking a Phone Number: Users can provide consent during the process of linking a phone number to their account
  • Through Account Settings: Users can modify their SMS preferences at any time in their account settings
  • Optional SMS Preferences: In both cases, the following entirely optional features are presented separately:
    • Service Notifications (Optional):
I would like to receive important service notifications via SMS (such as security alerts and account updates). This is optional and not required to use the app. Message and data rates may apply
    • Marketing Messages (Optional):
I would like to receive promotional messages and updates about Little Gems services via SMS. I understand this is completely optional and not required to use the app. Message and data rates may apply
  • Separate Checkboxes: Each type of notification has its own unchecked checkbox that users can independently enable or disable at any time
  • Clear Opt-Out Instructions: Users are informed they can opt-out at any time by:
    • Replying STOP to any message
    • Updating their preferences in the app settings
    • Contacting customer support

3. Privacy Policy

Users are informed about how their data is collected and used through the Little Gems privacy policy. The privacy policy includes information about:

  • The purpose of SMS notifications
  • How to manage or withdraw consent (e.g., replying STOP to messages)

4. How Consent is Stored

If a user chooses to enable SMS notifications, their consent is stored as follows:

  • The consent is logged in the app's database with the following details:
    • User ID
    • Timestamp of consent
    • Confirmation status of the SMS opt-in

5. Why Proof of Consent is Secured

Since consent is collected within a secured portion of the app, public access to this functionality is restricted to protect user privacy. However, the above flow demonstrates that consent is collected in a compliant and transparent manner
